3 teams have perfect week; 2 earn Liberty League honors

Men's basketball improved to 7-1 with an 82-79 victory at Trinity Dec. 12.  Sophomore Terron Victoria (Albany, N.Y.), with 15 points, led five Thoroughbreds in double figures while senior Jon Douglas (Amherst, Mass.) and junior Jeff Altimar (Medfield, Mass.) each chipped in with 14 points.  Skidmore resumes play at 7 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 3, at Castleton.

Women's basketball remained undefeated after a 52-38 road win Dec. 8 over Potsdam.  Senior Amber Kinsey (Troy, N.Y.) led the way for the Thoroughbreds, scoring a team-high 11 points.  Senior Sharlyn Harper (New York, N.Y.) added nine points and seven rebounds, and classmate Dana Leonard (Cooperstown, N.Y.) had five points to go with seven rebounds.  Skidmore, now at 6-0, will return to action Saturday, Jan. 2, at the Bowdoin College Coastal Maine Classic.

For their contributions, Victoria and Kinsey were both named Liberty League Co-Guards of the week.

Ice hockey improved to 3-2 in league play and 4-4 overall with a 6-1 win over Castleton Dec. 11.  Sophomore Nick Dupuis (Holyoke, Mass.) scored two goals while sophomore Jack Walsh (North Reading, Mass.) had a goal and two assists and senior Chris Webb (Holliston, Mass.) recorded a goal and an assist.  The Thoroughbreds resume play Friday, Jan. 1, at the Plattsburgh Cardinal Classic. ~ By Cody Berschwinger
