SCOPE VIDEO PRODUCED (MOSTLY) BY SKIDMORE STUDENTS
This week's videos feature The Rust Brothers, Skidmore's very own faculty band, playing Across the Universe, Helter Skelter, and All You Need is Love at the most recent Beatlemore Skidmania concert. Faculty band members include John Anzalone, Gordon Thompson, and Dave Maswick. Beatlemore Skidmania started with Thompson's Beatles Seminar in 2001. It was a particularly depressing fall. So students in his seminar asked if they could put on a concert of Beatles music to enhance their mood. Thompson helped them organize the event, recruit student bands and singing groups, as well as enter his own faculty band. They did very little advertising, and yet the hall was full. The rest, as they say, is history. The faculty members, as their band's name suggests, are doing what they can to fight history.
Other videos include Jonathan Strauss's (Class of '09) edited footage of a charity kickball game organized by the First Year Experience and two SkidTV shows—ShaveTalk and Taking Back Your Body. We are striving to include as many SkidTV shows as possible.
