Financial Structures

The program budget includes the costs associated with the faculty directors’ roles; specifically, course release costs for the sending departments and a living stipend for each director. The stipend is meant to help defray the increased living expenses inherent in living in London. It is not, however, meant to cover all living expenses. We assume directors will need to cover some of their own expenses for food, travel, entertainment, and other personal items. Detailed guidelines are available from OCSE.

The financial aspects of the FYE London are the shared responsibility of the faculty directors (tracking and reporting on the program budget) and the Office of Off-Campus Study & Exchanges (campus-based finances, collecting and tracking deposits, billing, establishing payment schedules, etc.). Once on site, the faculty directors need to track and report all program expenses, following the system currently in place for the Skidmore in London Junior program. OCSE works with the faculty directors and Financial Services to train the faculty directors in existing procedures.
