Skidmore's First-Year Experience in London
Administration in London

In London the program is administered by the staff of the IES London Center and the two Skidmore faculty directors. The IES staff oversees the academic components of the program, manages the administration of the program, and provides significant support to our students and faculty directors. The faculty directors teach the Skidmore courses, serve as advisors and mentors, provide student support, serve as liaisons between IES London and the Office of Off-Campus Study & Exchanges, and support our students in academic and personal matters.

The faculty directors also serve as advisors and mentors for the London students when they come to campus in January. This important consideration is consistent with the on-campus First-Year Experience model.

The IES London Center employs highly-qualified and professional staff for all of its positions. All staff receive regular training and updates on U.S. academics, student services, emergency procedures, and other relevant topics. The staff consists of a director, an assistant director who oversees student services and support, an internship and outside course coordinator, a financial administrator, an academic administrator, a program assistant, and two academic advisors. The London Residence Hall has a staff of 12, including a managing director, a director of student life, and five residence assistants.
