Paris Fall Seminar Director

Arc de Triomphe

Skidmore’s Fall Seminar in Paris was developed to offer students and faculty a well-focused, academic experience in Paris, utilizing the significant resources of the Skidmore in Paris program. This program offers faculty from across the disciplines an opportunity to develop and deliver a semester-long seminar in Paris, in English, during the fall semester. Two courses are tailored to the subject area of the Skidmore faculty member (seminar director) and two courses focus on French language and culture. With this Seminar, we see the opportunity to utilize our existing resources in the Paris program, to offer students and faculty from a variety of disciplines a focused academic experience, and to internationalize the curriculum while promoting the study of a foreign language. The Seminar is open to sophomores, juniors and seniors. Applicants need to meet college requirements concerning study abroad (3.0 GPA or above) and course pre-requisites as defined by the seminar director. There is no language requirement. (This program is not open to students with advanced or upper-intermediate French. Those students should consider the regular Skidmore in Paris program.)
