Forms and Applications

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

The following requirements are Skidmore College policies for studying abroad on non-Skidmore Approved Programs only. Please see the Skidmore programs section for details regarding Skidmore programs abroad. Please note that some Approved Programs may require junior standing as a minimum or may have a strict GPA requirement of 3.0 or higher. Please consult the information provided by the program provider for details.

  • Skidmore requires that students must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 for off-campus study. Those who do not meet this requirement must petition the Committee on Academic Standing (CAS) through Off-Campus Study & Exchanges. CAS is responsible for final decisions regarding eligibility to apply to study abroad.

  • Customarily, second-semester sophomores and first-semester juniors apply to study abroad. Students at other stages in their Skidmore education must attend a mandatory advising session with an OCSE advisor and submit non-junior petition materials with their applications. NOTE: Some programs require participants to have junior or higher standing.
