JMFS 323 - Teatro Español del Siglo XX
20th Century Spanish Theater
The study of Spanish social, economical, political and cultural developments during the 20th century and their reflections in Spanish theater. Special attention will be dedicated to the trends in contemporary Spanish drama and the course will include attendance of plays, films, lectures and other cultural activities pertinent to the subject material as well as a selection of video-taped plays, films and documentaries to be viewed at the Program center. Tutorial help is made available for individualized support in understanding the material.
First Semester (Fall): Covers the first half of the 20th century up to the Spanish Civil War.
Second Semester (Spring): The second semester covers the Post-war period up to present-day Spain.
Students who participate in the Madrid program for the full academic year do not have to enroll in the second segment of this course in the spring semester.
