Critically acclaimed singer, guitarist, composer and bandleader, Howard Fishman – with his exuberant, spontaneous, and unvarnished music – has become a favorite of audiences and critics alike. NO FURTHER INSTRUCTIONS is a multimedia song cycle centered around the musician’s true-life adventures in rural Romania with his childhood friend (and New York Times travel journalist/photographer) Michael Benanav. The project combines original music, historical memoir, storytelling and compelling photography to essay their exploits together as well as their experiences as American Jews in far-flung Eastern Europe.
About the Jacob Perlow Series: A generous grant from the estate of Jacob Perlow - an immigrant to the United States in the 1920s, a successful business man deeply interested in religion and philosophy, and a man who was committed to furthering Jewish education - supports annual lectures and presentations to the College and Capital District community on issues broadly related to Jews and Judaism.
