Skidmore Flute Institute
August 2-8, 2009

The Skidmore Flute Institute will be held August 2-8, 2009. Director Jan Vinci developed the program in 1994 with the goal of guiding students and encouraging them to tap into their innate talents, thereby enabling them to play their best, expand their abilities, and better appreciate various performance styles and music of all periods. The program nurtures and inspires flutists to enthusiastically tackle the physical and mental challenges of performance, resulting in heightened confidence and self-esteem. Flutists will leave the Institute with a stronger grasp of research sources and enhanced knowledge that will help them springboard to greater levels of performance and a deeper understanding of music and the gifts it bestows.
