Staff

Fifth year Coach Darren Bennett will lead all instruction and direct the camp. Darren is a graduate of Springfield College where he also earned his master’s degree. He has over 18 years of camp experience and has coached on all levels from high school and AAU to Division I women’s basketball. He worked for six years as a top assistant for Temple, Syracuse and Michigan State's women’s basketball programs before taking over at Skidmore College. The staff will be comprised of top college and high school coaches and talented young collegiate players.

Program

This is an instructional camp and fundamentals will be stressed. All skills and drills will be taught with simplicity and clarity and will be used in constant repetition. Each day’s lesson will have a theme that will be emphasized by all staff members.

Campers will gain the knowledge, confidence and motivation to become better players so that they will be able to succeed at basketball. At week’s end we hope that each camper will have learned about the value of team work, communication, loyalty, trust, discipline, sacrifice and perseverance so that in life they will not only be able to have fun in pursuing championships, but have fun in achieving as champions!

Features

Each camper will receive a jump rope and instructional sheet, a basketball, a T-shirt, and a camp booklet. “Camper of the Day” will be awarded daily in each division to the camper who stands out with her hustle, teamwork, willingness to learn, attention during teaching, positive attitude, etc. Also, “Crazy Clothes Day” will add to the fun.
