The Skidmore College tennis program provides group lessons for ages 3 to adult. Private and semi-private lessons are also offered and can be arranged by contacting Curt Speerschneider at 518-580-8313. Private lessons: $40 / hour; Semi-Private lessons $30 / person / hour.

Curt Speerschneider is in his third season with the Skidmore College women's tennis program after serving as the assistant women's tennis coach at Washington and Lee University from 2002 to 2006. W&L has finished ranked second in nationally in three of the past four seasons in National Collegiate Athletic Association Division III play. During that time, the program has also produced seven All-American players, including the 2004 ITA and 2005 NCAA III singles champion and the 2006 NCAA III singles champion. A 2000 graduate of North Carolina State, Speerschneider was an assistant coach for the NC State women's team from 1998-2000 and an assistant for the men's team from 2000-2001. He played for the Wolfpack from 1995-1997.
Nathan Simms is in his third season with the Skidmore College men’s program after spending six years as head women's coach at Middlebury College, compiling a 75-29 record. Under his direction, the Panthers consistently ranked in the national top-20 and earned four trips to the NCAA Division III Tournament. The 2005 team advanced to the NCAA semifinals, earning Simms ITA Northeast and New England Small College Athletic Conference Coach of the Year awards. A 1992 graduate of Middlebury, Simms played four years for the Panthers. He continues to play in regional tournaments and is regionally ranked by the USTA in men's singles and doubles. From 1992-2004, Simms spent 12 summers working for the Albany, N.Y. 15-love Tennis Program, a not-for- profit organization that provides free tennis and life-skills classes for local youth.
