
Contest Rules
Who is Eligible to Enter?
- The entire Skidmore community—students, faculty, staff, alumni, and retirees.
Contest Dates
- The contest begins October 1, 2009.
- All entries must be submitted by midnight Tuesday, November 17, 2009, for consideration.
Entries
- Photos must be the original work of the entrant.
- Photos must have been taken from September 1, 2008 or later.
- Photos cannot include a watermark or other mark indicating photographer's identity.
- Photos must illustrate "Creative Thought Matters" in some way.
- Photos entered in the "Focus on Skidmore" category must be taken on Skidmore property OR at a Skidmore event anywhere in the world, and illustrate life at Skidmore in some way.
- Photos must be digital, must be print quality, and must be in .jpg or .tif format.
- Limit 5 photos per photographer.
- All photo entries will become property of the Office of Communications and can be used for Skidmore marketing at any time.
- All submissions should meet college standards of taste and propriety. Photos that do not will not be considered.
Categories
- Best in Show: The best photograph, regardless of category, as determined by the judging committee.
- Focus on Skidmore: Photos in this category illustrate the life at Skidmore or highlight Skidmore's programs. All photos must be taken on Skidmore property or at a Skidmore event.
- Anything Goes: Pretty much as the category title says, anything goes. Photos in this category are not limited to the Skidmore campus or programs.
- People's Choice: Photo voted on by the Skidmore Community
