Majors


THE PHYSICS MAJOR: Students majoring in physics are required to:

  1. Fulfill the general College requirements.

  2. Complete the following:

    1. a minimum of ten courses in physics including PY207 or PY207H, 208, 210, 341, 345, 346, 348, 373 or 374, and two additional courses from among PY211, 212, 213, 221H, 251, 252, 351, 352 or 399.

    2. MA111, 113, 200, 202, and 270.

Physics Majors are required to take PY261 at least twice (effective class of 2012).

Students planning to pursue graduate work should also take a two-course sequence in another lab science.
