Welcome to the website of the Fall 2007 Joint Meeting of the Astronomical Society of New York and the New York State Section of the American Physical Society.

The theme of this meeting, which will be the 97th topical symposium for the NYSS-APS, is Planets: Geophysical and Astrophysical Perspectives on Their Structure and Formation

The meeting will be held in Gannett Auditorium on Skidmore College campus on Friday October 19 and Saturday October 20. It will feature ten talks on topics covering the science of planet formation and structure.  (See the program link for the speaker list.)    

A Poster Session will be held on Friday, the 19th, before the banquet with cash awards to the best student posters.

Robert Zubrin, author of “The Case For Mars” and “Entering Space” will give a
Public Lecture following the Friday evening banquet.



Travel support for students will be available.
