Field Hockey Undefeated in League
The 17th-ranked Skidmore College field hockey team improved to 3-0 in Liberty League play and 6-1 overall with a 5-0 win over Vassar College Saturday, Sept. 22 at Wachenheim Field. The Thoroughbreds beat RPI 5-0 on Friday. Chelsea Lisaius and Casey Tang scored two goals apiece, with Jessica Bergen notching the final tally. Skidmore out shot Vassar 24-2.

Menís Tennis Wins Fourth Straight
Skidmoreís menís tennis team defeated Union College 9-0 Wednesday, Sept. 19 at Wenger Courts. At 4-1, the Thoroughbreds have won four straight. Number one seed Carl-Eric Girardin beat Unionís Trey Mitner 6-3, 4-6, 10-6, while Jeremy Hogan was perfect at the number two spot, blanking Alex Katz 6-1, 6-4. Girardin and Jared Karlebach won at one doubles 8-2.

Loeb and Fancher Pace Thoroughbred Womenís Netters
Fresh off of season-opening wins over Wesleyan (6-3) and New York University (5-4), Skidmoreís women's tennis team finished play Sunday, Sept. 23, in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association New York Regional at William Smith. In the round of 16, Rachel Loeb defeated Ithacaís Melanie Cohen 6-0, 6-0 before losing a three-setter to the third-seed. In doubles, Loeb and Dani Fancher defeated an NYU team 9-7, before falling 9-8 in the quarters to the fifth-seed. Caroline Sherman and Kyra Travis won the consolation doubles title 8-1.

Menís Soccer Stages Comeback vs. Hobart
Skidmoreís menís soccer team came from two goals down to tie fifth- ranked Hobart 2-2 in a Liberty League game Saturday, Sept. 23 at Wachenheim Field. The tie leaves Skidmore at 1-5-2, 0-1-1 Liberty. Co-captain Chris Fincke led the comeback, firing a direct kick midway through the second half. Mark Fiskio knotted the contest off of a Fincke throw-in with a minute left. Skidmore fell 1-0 to Hamilton on Friday.

Womenís Soccer Loses Tough One to Highly Ranked William Smith
The Skidmore womenís soccer team battled 13th-ranked William Smith on Saturday, Sept. 23 in Liberty League action, but ultimately fell 1-0. The Thoroughbreds are 3-3-2 overall and 0-2-0 in the league. Katie Crapulli made a last-minute effort to tie the game in the 88th minute, but the Heronís goalie was up to the task. Liza Mills recorded three saves for Skidmore.

Undefeated Golf Team Looks for League Championship
In other sports, the undefeated golf team--winners of the Tim Brown Invitational, Middleburyís Duke Nelson tourney, and Williams Invite--goes for the Liberty League championship Saturday, Sept. 29 at Saratoga Spa State Park. And Hilda Arrecheaís volleyball team looks to notch its eight win Tuesday, Sept. 25 vs. Russell Sage.
