Posted: 09/18/2008In the first of two visits heíll make to the campus this year as the McCormack Visiting Artist-Scholar in Residence, Grammy Award-winning musician Terence Blanchard met with Scribner Seminar "Human Dilemmas" classes and a senior seminar on "Music and Film," joined a rehearsal of the Small Jazz Ensemble under the direction of Senior Artist-in-Residence John Nazarenko, and spoke at length about his life and art in a public interview conducted by Tom Denny, chair of the Music Department. Blanchard's visit had particular relevance for first-year students, who are studying his Grammy Award-winning CD, ďA Tale of Godís Will (A Requiem for Katrina)Ē in the broader context of the tragedy of Hurricane Katrina and the concept of citizenship.
