| Spring teams enjoy successful season
Thoroughbred spring teams have enjoyed outstanding seasons, with several vying for league and national championships. The riding team qualified for a return to the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association National Show in May after winning the IHSA Zones.
The golf team, led by senior All-American Chris DeJohn, continues its winning tradition by qualifying for its 24th straight NCAA Division III tournament, scheduled May 11-14 in Hershey, Penn.
Women's tennis finished second in the Liberty League championships and was regionally ranked the entire season with an 11-8 record. Men’s tennis also earned regional ranking for much of the season and finished with a 9-10 record.
Men's and women's lacrosse battled for Liberty League playoff bids. The men beat defending league champion St. Lawrence 10-9 to end the Saints’ 32-game league win streak. The women’s team enjoyed its best season since 2006, with league wins over Vassar, Clarkson, and Rochester.
Baseball hit the 20-win mark for a program-record fourth straight year. The Thoroughbreds took three of four from nationally ranked Rochester, and the team’s pitching staff was ranked among the top programs nationally, as demonstrated by junior Trevor Brucato throwing a no-hitter against St. Michael’s. The softball team had consecutive winning seasons for the first time since 1997 and 1998. Sophomore Sam Crose led the Liberty League and was nationally ranked in several pitching stats.
Women’s crew finished ahead of William Smith to take second in the Liberty League championships. The varsity women’s eight was nationally ranked throughout the entire season. Both the men’s and women’s teams had boats compete in the Dad Vail Championships held in Philadelphia.
