What we call “pre-orientation” is a sure sign that the start of the new academic year is near. As in past years, about half the Class of 2014 is participating in a dozen programs on and off the campus. Many have headed up to the Adirondacks for white water rafting, hiking, and canoeing. Others are exploring the Tang Museum through digital technology, working on the semester's first issue of the Skidmore News, creating an art installation, or getting an introduction to theater. Before any of these and other activities began, students met in color-coded T-shirts in South Park and Case Green for ice-breaking exercises.
