Welcoming the Class of 2014

Posted: 09/04/2010

Seven hundred and seventy two members of the Class of ’14 – the largest first-year class in Skidmore’s history – have begun their entry to the Skidmore community. Forty already have begun their studies in London; the rest will start classes Tuesday. As in past years, about half the Class of 2014 participated in a dozen pre-orientation programs on and off the campus. Many headed up to the Adirondacks for white water rafting, hiking, and canoeing. Others explored the Tang Museum through digital technology, working on the semester's first issue of the Skidmore News, creating an art installation, or getting an introduction to theater. On Saturday, all first-year students arrived for a three-day orientation,  which included a warm welcome at Saturday’s New Student Convocation from President Philip A. Glotzbach.
