Welcoming the Class of 2015
Six hundred seventy members of the Class of 2015 have begun their entry to the Skidmore community. Thirty-four already have begun their studies in London; the rest will start classes Wednesday. As in past years, about half the Class of 2015 participated in a dozen pre-orientation programs on and off the campus. Many headed up to the Adirondacks for white water rafting, hiking, and canoeing. Others stayed on campus to learn the essentials of Taiko drumming, perform community service, explore the Tang Museum through digital technology, work on the semester's first issue of the Skidmore News, and get an introduction to the theater department. On Sunday, all first-year students arrived for a three-day orientation, which included a warm welcome at the New Student Convocation from, among others, President Philip A. Glotzbach and Adirondack Trust Company Chairman, President, and CEO Charles Wait.
