Night Before Finals

Posted: 12/14/2011

Fifteen weeks after it, the fall term began winding down Tuesday night. Classes had ended Friday, and the beginning of finals now was just hours away. Earlier in the evening, “Wafflefest” had offered students a cheery, music-filled respite in Murray-Aikins. Now, singly and in groups, they were back at their laptops in Case Center and Scribner Library, endeavoring to comprehend, memorize or otherwise grasp every morsel of information the test might require of them. In Saisselin, artists of every kind wielded an assortment of implements -- brushes, hammers, sewing machines, blowtorches -- in a race with time, striving to realize the visions that had challenged them for weeks.
