The Thoroughbred winter teams are entering the regular season final stretch with playoff berths on the line.

Both basketball teams are in the postseason hunt. The men are defending Liberty League champions and sit in fourth place at the league halfway mark with a 5-3 league and 11-6 overall record.  After narrowly missing the playoffs last season, the women's team is tied for fourth with a 4-4 league and 11-6 overall record.  Megan Gaugler '12 became the 12th player in Thoroughbred history to hit the 1,000 career scoring mark when she scored eight points in an overtime loss at Union.

The hockey team is closing in on home ice for the ECAC East playoffs with a 6-6 league and 7-10-2 overall record. The Thoroughbreds are one point out of fourth place and home ice with six games to play.

The swimming and diving teams are getting ready for the UNYSCSA Swimming and Diving Championships Feb. 22-25 in Rochester.  Diver Doug Pilawa '12 has already surpassed the NCAA Division III diving qualifying scores, beating his own records in the one and three meter dives. The 2009 and 2011 Liberty League Diver of the Year, hopes to be the first Skidmore diver to compete in the NCAA Division III Championships.

The unbeaten riding team opens its second semester schedule at home on Feb. 18.  The Thoroughbreds will also host the Zone II Regionals (March 31) and Zone II Finals (April 7) at the Van Lennep Riding Center.
