Our Students

We have approximately 180 majors in psychology (including "pure" majors and interdepartmental majors).

Generally, students become psychology majors after they have taken a couple of psychology courses -- but they rarely come to Skidmore knowing that they want to major in psychology. Thus, more seniors are psychology majors than are first-year students. For instance, for "pure" majors, in a recent year, we had 73 majors in the senior class and 73 majors in the junior class, but only 6 majors in the sophomore class.
