All Changes reviewed by Committee on Academic Standing |
You will handle your own drops on line without signature. Please complete the drops as soon as you know that you will not remain enrolled , since this may open a seat for someone who really wants it. After Feb 5, you may leave a class only by requesting a withdrawal and using the paper Withdrawal Form. Please note that the Committee on Academic Standing (CAS) rarely approves late drop requests.
In addition, changes in grade option (S/U or Letter) must be made prior to Feb 5th. CAS will not allow changes in grade option after that date. Once the add deadline has passed, grade option changes need to be requested via email to register@skidmore.edu
During the first three days of the semester , you may add open classes on line with no signature. There are a few exceptions, including the Scribner Seminars and sections where the faculty member has made special arrangements with the Registrar's Office. Any first year student seeking to make a change to his/her SSP-100 section must obtain the approval of Janet Casey, Director of the First Year Experience.
A fair number of sections have waitlists associated with them. As seats become available, students will be notified and can add the course on their own prior to Friday, January 25. If you are on a waitlist, keep checking your email during the first three days of classes. If you no longer wish to take a course, please delete the waitlisted course from your schedule.
If a section is closed or a pre-requisite override is needed, you can ask the instructor to enter an override for you.
Starting Jan 25, you may only enroll in a section with written approval, using the yellow Course Registration Form. We want students to be settled into their classes by the end of the first week.
Starting Tuesday Jan 29, any new registration will be reviewed by CAS, and late adds may be denied if the rationale is not deemed appropriate. Please make your enrollment decisions on time and begin your academic work immediately. This is important for getting off to the right start.
