The Registrar's Office maintains student academic records from 1911 to the present.
An "official transcript" bears the signature of the Registrar, a statement indicating the student is in good standing and a transcript key. The "unofficial transcript" contains the same information shown on the grade report and is watermarked with "UNOFFICIAL".
Transcript Requests are online forms. Current students and Alumni graduating after 1985 can view and print their own unofficial transcript.

The Skidmore College transcript is an official document. To protect the validity of the transcript, it is normally mailed directly to a college, university, governmental agency, employer, etc. In the event of a self managed application, official transcripts maybe issued to the student in a signed, sealed envelope. The name of the actual recipient is required to process the request.
As of June 1, 2009, there is no charge for a Skidmore College transcript.
To have your transcript mailed 'ASAP', select "Now" for Send When, and do NOT request
special instructions. 'ASAP' means your transcript(s) will be mailed no later than the end of the next business day. If you type anything in the special instructions box, it could take between 2 to 3 business days to process (that does not include shipping time). During examinations, recording of grades, registration and commencement additional time maybe required.
You can fax in your request. Please include the following statement after your signature: "A photocopy of this document shall be considered as valid as the original." Our fax number is (518) 580-5749.
An unofficial transcript may be faxed to the student or designated recipient. Indicate recipient's name, address, phone and fax number in your request. The recipient will be notified that the original official transcript will follow US mail.
No. If a self-managed application requires the recipient's envelope, include it with your request for processing.
No. The transcript that Skidmore has was issued from that other institution as an official record of your enrollment and grades earned. Skidmore uses the transcript as evidence of the work you did in order to make admissions and/or transfer credit decisions. However, since we have none of the underlying documentation, Skidmore cannot provide an official copy of another institution's record to a third party. If you need to provide official documents to another school or to an employer, you must request them directly from the institution that sponsored and transcripted the courses originally. This is standard practice across the country.
If you previously attended a school that you think has closed, you may use the search page http://wdcrobcolp01.ed.gov/CFAPPS/FSA/closedschool/searchpage.cfm to verify. You will then need to contact the appropriate Closed School Contact for the state the school was located in and request that a letter be sent to the recipient on your behalf. The contact person can tell you if your records are being held somewhere and how to obtain them. If not, they will need to send a letter to your recipient stating that the school has closed and no records are available for you. They will need to include your name and social security number. The contacts can be found at: http://studentaid.ed.gov/PORTALSWebApp/students/english/closedinfo.jsp?tab=attending
