TX 200C Hindu Religion & Art in India
Hinduism is a living religion with many different dimensions, including ritual;, practice, narrative and philosophical texts, architecture, and imagery. This course will explore how the religious and visual aspects intersect, and how the lived religion relates to its long historical development. Both the contemporary and the archeological will be approached through direct observations and study at village, pilgrimage, urban and royal temples, and in personal shrines.
On the right side there is a list of various places visited by Professor Joel Smith while on his recent trip to India. Please click on each location to view the photos.
