Dear Classmates,
Our 50th Reunion is now in the past and we are already thinking about the next time we will be able to gather together again. As promised, we are sending you the proofs of the photos taken by the professional photographer at Reunion. Even for those of you who did not attend reunion, you might want to get in on this offer. If you want to order some finished photos, you need to deal directly with the photographer. The best way to do this is to contact Stock Studios Photography directly by calling (800) 406-1008 or (518) 584-9784. The cost is $20.00 for each 8 x 10 color, glossy photograph.
Many of us are still basking in the glow of the wonderful time we spent together. The rain lasted for a brief window of time on Saturday afternoon. Meanwhile, most of us attended Connie Masciale Carino's optimistic perspective on aging and found the information to be very pertinent to where we are in our lives. At our Class Memorial Service, we honored the memories of 34 classmates who are no longer with us for, in knowing them, our lives have been enriched.
All of you who volunteered to make our reunion the special time it was are to be congratulated and thanked by us all. And let's remember the huge role that the College and the Alumni Office Staff played in the overall enjoyment of this happy occasion. We can truly be thankful to our alma mater for a most memorable weekend.
Here are some statistics you might like to have: We had 68 classmates register for the event, and they brought 40 guests with them. Fifty-eight percent of the class participated by giving through the Annual Fund, for a total gift of $182,430. Our overall lifetime gift totaled $1,220,089. The reunion giving from all of the classes present was $6,019, 273.00. All of these accomplishments could not have been achieved if it were not for the efforts of Betty Jennison Brady, Susanne Hecht Goldstein and the capable group of class agents.
We would also like to acknowledge the work of some other classmates who helped with our Reunion: Fran Garrett Crew, our dinner chair for Friday night’s dinner at the Gideon Putnam Hotel; Linda Gross Singer and Elsa Daspin Suisman, our dinner chairs for Saturday night; Sidney Wright Coursen, who organized our Class Memorial Service; Jane Hunter Goodman who planned the Hospitality Suite and Claire Steinmetz McCleery, our Nursing Chair. Last, but not least, we have new officers for the next five years: Monica Reis de Janosi is our new President, with Priscilla Knowlton Tavenner as Class Secretary. Our Fund Chair will be Susanne Hecht Goldstein, and our 55th Reunion chairs will be Anne Davis Carrier and Anne Mintener Heegaard. Fondly,
