Dear Class of 1998:
I trust this note finds you well. It may seem rather early to begin planning the Summer of 2008, but there are some events that are so momentous, so crucial to your well being that no warning is too early. This is one of those events. The Mighty Class of 1998 is, once again, preparing to descend on our collective second home of Saratoga Springs. Those who attended The Fifth need no convincing; your remaining memories of that weekend will last forever. You may skip to the bottom and record the date in the closed slab of stone. Those of you who planned poorly and missed 2003 will soon have a chance to redeem yourselves. Yes, our 10th REUNION is a short seven months away.
This past August, Simon Fennell, Raph Chun, Ben Russell and Graeme Campbell headed up to Saratoga to begin the planning of the greatest weekend of your future. The planning went very well and the Class of ’98 has much to do from a Thursday night downtown gathering to a Sunday brunch. But the activities that Reunion offers are only part of the reason to return to Saratoga: the campus itself has changed markedly since your last visit. Nothing you’ve read in Scope or on Skidmore.edu can prepare you for the recently dedicated Northwoods Village – it’s gigantic and fantastic. The Dining Hall has been expanded and completely overhauled. In fact, Skidmore’s has been called the best dining facilities in the country! It’s really something that you have to see for yourself. And who knows how many other wonders await us upon our return?
MARK YOUR CALENDAR NOW for our 10-year Reunion – May 28 – June 1, 2008!
So please begin planning now. We will help you with all the excuses you need to ditch your spouse, job and kids for the weekend so you can return to your college days. Soon we will have a website with constant updates right up until next summer. We are working hard to make sure that our 10th Reunion will be the best event Skidmore has ever seen but we can’t do it without you!
