Creating a Proposal
A student interested in a self-determined major must propose a course of study to the Self-Determined Majors Advisory Board through the Program Director.
Students planning a Self-Determined Major should thoroughly discuss their proposal with their faculty advisor(s). The formal proposal must be typed and carefully written, edited, and proofread. The student should submit the completed proposal directly to the SDM Program Director.
- The proposal should normally be submitted by March 15th of the spring term of the sophomore year.
- Late proposals will be considered on a conditional basis until October 1st of the junior year.
