Why is Senior Gift important?

Did you know a gap of $12,500 per student per year exists between revenue from tuition and the actual daily expense of keeping Skidmore running?  To make up the difference, the College relies heavily on the generosity of alumni, parents, students, and friends who contribute to the Annual Fund.  The Skidmore alumni legacy of philanthropy begins before graduation through Senior Gift.

Quick Facts About Senior Gift!

Senior Class Gift is a Skidmore tradition that started in the 1980’s as a two-year pledge program and took on its current form as a scholarship in 2000.

In 2001, for the first time seniors could join the Friends of the Presidents (FOP) Society with a gift of at least $50. Older alumni must contribute on a sliding scale up to $2,000 for the same membership “perks”. FOP Society members receive special insider information directly from President Glotzbach and are invited to receptions and networking events with other leadership level donors.

The Class of 2008 holds all Senior Class Gift records:  94 percent participation, 110 FOPs, and $9,288 raised.  Let's break a record this year!
