Employment Forms
Before a student begins working on campus he/she must complete (and submit) all required paperwork and become familiar with the payroll process.
Incoming freshman students need to complete the following:
- I-9 Employment Eligibility Verification (and provide photocopies of supporting identification)
- Federal W4 Form
- New York State Certificate of Exemption from Withholding OR
- New York State Employee's Withholding Allowance Certificate
- Electronic Distribution of Payroll Earnings Selection Form
Upper-class students who have never worked on campus need to complete the following:
- I-9 Employment Eligibility Verification (and provide photocopies of supporting documentation)
- Federal W4 Form
- New York State Certificate of Exemption from Withholding OR
- New York State Employee's Withholding Allowance Certificate
- Electronic Distribution of Payroll Earnings Selection Form
-
Student Employment Work Agreement (The work agreement must be signed by a supervisor once a student has been hired for a particular employment position on campus.)
Student employees who have previously worked on campus need to complete the following:
- Federal W4 Form
- New York State Certificate of Exemption from Withholding OR
- New York State Employee's Withholding Allowance Certificate
- Electronic Distribution of Payroll Earnings Selection Form
-
Student Employment Work Agreement (The work agreement must be signed by a supervisor once the student has been hired for a particular employment position on campus.)
Very important - a student employee will not be set up in the student employment payroll systems until ALL documents are completed in full and submitted to the Student Aid Office.
Persons eligible for student employment must have proper identification as required by the Department of Homeland Security to work on campus. Students must complete the I-9 Employment Eligibility Form by the first day of work and present proper identification by the third day of work. Failure to do so is against federal law and will delay the disbursement of wages.
In addition, students need to complete both Federal and State Tax Certificates. If none are filed, Skidmore College will assume that the student wishes to claim zero exemptions at the single rate.
Students must also complete the Electronic Distribution of Payroll Earnings Selection Form. If the form is not completed, distribution of earnings will be direct deposited to the declining portion of the student's Skidmore ID card. Because all of the College's offerings for payroll disbursement are electronic, we are able to provide you with your Statement of Earnings information on-line. When you access the secure web site for this information, you will be able to view both current and past gross pay, tax, voluntary deduction, and net pay information by pay period.
All students working on campus must complete a Work Agreement each academic year - even if the student is returning to the same job held during the previous academic year.
International Students must obtain a Social Security Card to work on campus. The Student Academic Services Office assists students with filing the appropriate applications.
