Climate Change
Greenhouse Gas Inventory: Skidmore has completed the data collection phase of its greenhouse gas inventory, which will determine a baseline of greenhouse gas emissions. Currently, Skidmore is analyzing the data with completion goal of fall 2009.
Skidmore College Climate Commitment: Skidmore has drafted a Skidmore College Climate Commitment, which will include information on some greenhouse gas emission-reduction strategies, emission-reduction percentages, and target dates.
Focus Skidmore: Focus Skidmore is an educational program surrounding climate change solutions and is part of a national "teach-in". Focus Skidmore 2009 included: a webcast and interdisciplinary panel discussion, a reusable mug initiative, an environmental movie night and discussion, the launch of the greenhouse gas inventory commuting/travel and environmental awareness survey, and a keynote lecture entitled "Climate Change: Causes, Consequences and Policy Responses."
