The Writing Center

Our goal at The Writing Center is to help you become a better writer. Tutors are available to help you with ideas for a paper, a paper assignment, a draft of a paper, editing skills, or any questions you have pertaining to your college-related writing. We can assist you with analysis, argumentation, critical thinking, and style by suggesting strategies for improvement that can be applied in many writing situations.

Are you having trouble getting started on a paper? If so, the Skidmore Writing Center should be your first stop. Bring your assignment, drafts, parts of a paper, or just your notes, and our tutors will be available to assist you. The Writing Center has a number of selected undergraduate tutors who are trained to help with writing in all disciplines. They can work with you on general writing concerns, such as organization, stylistics, grammar, and punctuation. Tutors will not write, edit, or proofread your paper and they do not discuss grades on papers.
