President Glotzbach
President Philip A. Glotzbach will moderate the discussion, in which the following faculty and alumni will take part:
Sandy Baum
Sandy Baum, one of the nation's leading experts on such issues as college access, college pricing, student aid, and the affordability of higher education. Former chair of Skidmore's economics department, Baum is now a senior policy analyst at the College Board, where she has co-authored such publications as Trends in College Pricing and Education Pays: The Benefits of Higher Education for Individuals and Society. She also has authored this article for the fall issue of Scope Magazine.
Sarah Webster Goodwin
Sarah Webster Goodwin, professor of English and faculty assessment coordinator. Working with a steering committee of twelve professors, administrators, and students, Goodwin is leading the College's effort to answer such key questions as, "What should liberally educated people know?", "How should they think?", and "What should they be able to do?" The College's assessment initiative is described in this article in the fall issue of Scope Magazine.
Rich Harwood Richard Harwood '82, a leading authority on engaging citizens in the important issues of the day.  As founder and president of The Harwood Institute for Public Innovation, he develops initiatives to improve America’s communities, raise standards of political conduct, and increase public involvement in complex and controversial public issues. He is a commentator and contributor on national and syndicated television, newspapers, radio, and web sites.
Maxine Isaacs Maxine Isaacs '69, an accomplished public policy practitioner and scholar, graduated from Skidmore College as an American Studies major in 1969.  She received a master's degree in international public policy from Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies and a Ph.D. in policy studies from the University of Maryland Isaacs has been a Skidmore trustee since 2005, serving as chair of the Academic Affairs Committee and co-chair of the Strategic Planning Committee. She has returned to campus to speak to students on several occasions and recently led a panel on the Obama Presidency at her class reunion.
Donald Sussman
S. Donald Sussman is the chairman of Trust Asset Management LLP, an investment firm specializing in alternative investment strategies. Mr. Sussman has been involved in hedge fund investing for more than 25 years and is the founder of and trading advisor to Paloma. He was the recipient of Institutional Investor’s Alternative Investment News Lifetime Achievement Award in 2004. Mr. Sussman is a member of the Board of Trustees and Executive Committee and co-chair of the Investment Committee of Carnegie Hall, Board of Trustees and Chairman of the Investment Committee of Skidmore College, Board member of the Center for American Progress and Honorary Chairman of the Ethical Culture Fieldston School. Mr. Sussman is a Trustee of the University of the Virgin Islands. Mr. Sussman attended Columbia College and received a B.S. and an M.B.A. from New York University.
