David Miner '91
David Miner, a talent manager and producer of top comedy shows for television, graduated from Skidmore College in 1991 with a major in theater. He is an executive producer of the highly acclaimed "30 Rock" and "Parks and Recreation," both on NBC, and is a partner in the talent management and production company 3 Arts Entertainment, helping to guide careers of writers, actors, directors, and comedians.
A comedian at heart, Miner has his own lighthearted take on his career. When asked for a recent biography, he replied: “David is in the comedy business and therefore his bio does not warrant use of the words ‘distinguished,’ ‘academic’ or ‘expert.’ Though raised by a J.D. and an M.S.W., and married to an M.A., M.Ed., Psy.D. (a.b.d), Miner holds only a bachelor of science degree from Skidmore. That turned out to be good news in Hollywood, where B.S is what matters most.” Kidding aside, Miner’s work on “30 Rock” has garnered him multiple Primetime Emmy Awards as well as a Golden Globe.
At Skidmore, Miner performed in Theater Department productions; sang with the Bandersnatchers; founded Skidmore’s first-ever comedy group, the Ad-Liberal Artists; and created and produced the annual National College Comedy Festival, which has brought students and professionals from across the nation together each winter on the Skidmore campus for over 20 years, continuing to this day.
Miner is married to Jennifer Weis Miner ’89.
