With over 25 years of professional experience in the performing arts industry, Shawn brings a wealth of expertise to the Arthur Zankel Music Center and Skidmore College. Throughout his career he has served as Production Manager, Technical Director, Lighting and Sound Designer, and Educator with a wide variety of performing arts organizations and academic institutions
Before to coming to Skidmore, Shawn divided his time between the Riverwalk Center in Breckenridge Colorado, and the International School Bangkok, Thailand, which has been his home for the past 7 years. Prior to that he was the Production Manager/Technical Director at the Gallagher-Bluedorn Performing Arts Center at the University of Northern Iowa. This was preceded by stints with the Joyce Theatre in New York, Feld Ballets NY, the University of Massachusetts-Amherst, American Players Theatre in Spring Green Wisconsin, and numerous dance companies in the Midwest and New York City, to name a few.
Shawn is originally from Minnesota, and has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Theatre from the University of Minnesota-Morris. Joining him here are his wife Jennifer and daughter Jolynn. While he certainly misses seeing palm trees or snow-capped peaks when he looks out his window, Shawn has quickly grown fond of his current vista of maple trees and cheeky squirrels.
